Quikrete FastSet DOT Extended cont.
By Marcus Kirkwood
A few weeks ago, we had a post about concrete road reconstruction. When it comes to repairs of infrastructure like this, Outpost stocks a great product for the job. FastSet DOT Extended is that product. FastSet DOT Extended is used in a wide variety of commercial applications and has proven itself to perform up to multiple industry standards.
FastSet DOT is specially designed for the structural concrete repair of bridge decks, roadways, and parking surfaces. This mix design allows for extremely quick repairs on projects in these categories. The product's performance is all in the name, “FastSet.” In most cases, applications of this Quikrete mix allow vehicle traffic to resume in about an hour.
FastSet DOT Mix is on the list of Colorado state pre-approved products for use throughout the state. It is a fiber reinforced, rapid hardening repair material, blended with 3/8” pea gravel which makes it ideal for applications from 2 to 24 inches thick. The product formula is designed to provide twenty to thirty minutes of working time.
The product is also available in a non-extended form. The extended version comes in 80lb bags (25lbs of pea gravel) and the non-extended comes in 55lb bags, without pea gravel. The non-extended version can be applied much thinner, down to ½” thickness. Both products exceed ASTM C-928 R-3, the industry standard that encapsulates concrete repair. You will find comparable products like Sika 2500 and US Spec Transpatch in this same category.
Quikrete’s standards for quality are top of the line in the industry. You can probably bet that if FastSet DOT Extended isn’t the right product for your application, then Quikrete has a product that is. You can also bet that Outpost Construction Supply has that product. Contact your local Sales Rep to ask about our availability of Quikrete Products.
